Hello
My first time importing AutoCAD file to SU Pro 2018. AutoCAD file sent to me by mapmaking company. FYI I don’t have AutoCAD.
Having issue with curved lines appearing jagged in SU.
Image 1: Photo taken of original plan with iPhone - clean lines
Image 2: Screen shot - jagged lines in SU
dog file also uploaded if anyone has a fix for this issue? Again, I don’t have AutoCAD on my computer.
Thanks for your help.

My model is not automatically saving or manually saving. I have tried re-linking the file locations. The warning that pops up says that I need to go into sketch-up preferences and allow models to be saved in that location. Can’t figure out why its not letting them save. I have tried saving in different locations and save as also with no luck. The same problem occurred in a different file last night but corrected when I closed out of sketch-up and reopened. Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it? It does seem to be occurring after I purge.

I unknowingly deleted a layer that contained a laboriously created 2D model that I had exported into a window in Layout–which is now the only place it exists. Is there a way to either send the Layout model back to SU, or at least save it in Layout (if I update the model reference, it disappears)?

Hey guys! so I have this banquette here that I have chosen and I have a corner rail over here and would like to have this same banquette continue along the corner path. I am not 100% sure of how to tackle this. My only guess would be follow me tool but how would i get it so that the back and the bottom part of this banquette is exactly aligned with my railing when going across this 90 degree corner?

I couldn’t upload more than one image so here are the images: Link
I’m trying to make a pretty regular shape and when I import the obj into Paint 3d or simplify3d I get this weird clipping problem where it ignores one of the corners and just draws the line across (left window in the first image)
Also, on this little piece, it’s putting a rectangular top over the circular gap when there isn’t one

Hi. I have created a design that I want to export as a .dwg file including the shadows. I am in top view with shadows turned on. For some reason when I export as 2D Graphic the shadow doesn’t show up on the newly created .dwg file. Can anyone help me include the shadow in my design. Thank you

Hi all,
I’ve been using sketchup for a little while now, but I’ve only just started playing around with settings for faces and styles. One thing has me really confused. I can successfully edit my current style, changing the front and back colours, and new shapes I draw will use these colours. I can also paint faces with the bucket tool/the entity info dialog, and using these methods I can change the colours and the opacity as I would expect. The problem comes when I try and set the default opacity to something other than 100% in my style - it simply ignores it! It will pick up whatever colour I’ve asked for, but the opacity of the new faces is always 100% until I manually override it for the shape in question using the entity info/paint bucket tools. I have enable transparency on and transparency does work generally - it’s just that sketchup isn’t picking up my opacity settings from my style for some reason. Is this a bug or am I missing something? I’m on a Mac on Yosemite, if that makes any difference.
Many thanks
Lucian

While I had some off time I modeled and rendered my kitchen.
As Rod Serling might say “Submitted for Your Approval” or not.
I did grab a few things from the warehouse, but I did probably 90% of it.

I would like to ask about any plugin or extension that would (more) easily go from an upright (90 deg.) to a 30 deg. offset on a curve. or 1/4 diameter. I am trying to model the sinks from Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom and am going nowhere with it. I have Sketchup Pro 2018 on an HP Pavilion PC with Windows 10 installed.
Any thoughts on this would be welcome, my email is popadave5@gmail.com.
Cheers,

hello all. new to sketchup.
how do we go about (and can i) curve a texture and export it as curved?here’s what i’m doing:
i got a texture of a road - the road is a straight line
i want to have that same road texture, as a curve to have a curved road, and then export it to fbx.in sketchup i was able to curve the texture using Curviloft.
from here i have no clue though.i tried applying the curved texture to a (new) curved face in sketchup, but the texture doesn’t keep it’s curve - it goes back to being straight.
i need help on getting the curved texture by either:
a) making the texture be curved when applying it to a (new) curved face (i tried this using the dropper, but to no avail)
b) exporting the curved texture?or any other method i can follow?
